A first look
Mihintale in Anuradhapura is a stop guests add when they build a trip around a named house. SoloRoost lists it because it is on the map, not because we run a ticket booth here.

History and meaning
It is believed by Sri Lankans to be the site of a meeting between the Buddhist monk Mahinda and King Devanampiyatissa which inaugurated the presence of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
Being there
Mihintale is a mountain peak near Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka. It is now a pilgrimage site, and the site of several religious monuments and abandoned structures. Listed stays nearby appear on the Anuradhapura hub when hosts publish. If a house is not on SoloRoost, we do not invent it.
