A first look
Independence Memorial Hall in Colombo is a stop guests add when they build a trip around a named house. SoloRoost lists it because it is on the map, not because we run a ticket booth here.

Sri Lankan national monument
The formal ceremony marking the start of self-rule, with the opening of the first parliament at the special podium at the present Independence Square, Colombo.
History and meaning
Independence Memorial Hall is a national monument in Sri Lanka built for the commemoration of the independence of Sri Lanka from British rule, with the restoration of full governing responsibility to a Ceylonese-elected legislature on 4 February 1948.
Being there
It is located in Independence Square in the Cinnamon Gardens, Colombo. It also houses the Independence Memorial Museum. Listed stays nearby appear on the Colombo hub when hosts publish. If a house is not on SoloRoost, we do not invent it.
